The Mellam Family Foundation is a private foundation that makes grants only to organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation is currently supporting programs in the areas of medical and scientific research, education, the environment and social services. The majority of the Foundation's grant recipients are located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the New York Metropolitan Area, Colorado, and Hawaii. Effective April 2002 the Foundation no longer accepts unsolicited grant requests. Organizations the Foundation invites to submit a grant request should visit our Guidelines page for details about the type of information that we require to be included in grant requests.
